...And then God said, "Let there be hockey."

Why, yes, my little muffins! 'Tis the season!

HOCKEY SEASON!

Um, it's been on since like, last month, so I'm a tad late on this. But I'm doing this in case you've been living under a rock for the past month. So, let's play catch-up, shall we? And this game of catch-up is going to catch up on everything, including my own personal hap'nins.

-Coach up and left me. Or our team, rather. Yes, left. I get a text message at 5:30 AM from "Dave Schultz" informing me of said news. Worst morning wake-up ever, even if it was from one of my most favorite people in the world.

-Oh, but before Nachbaur left us, Uncle Mitch was traded. Bob broke my little heart with that trade. However, it was inevitable. Had we not traded him, we would have been left with like 3 million OAs. But Uncle Mitch is currently head honcho of Chilliwack. So it's CAP'N MITCH to you, bish.

-I got my AA degree. Nothing to celebrate, but either way, it's over. Like Uncle Mitch, I'm on to bigger and better things (TWSS). YEEEESSSSS.

-New jerseys for mah teem. At first, I hated the shit out of them, but they are sorta growing on me. I guess it helps that my team is ridiculously good-looking and can make most anything look damn good.

On to things that really matter...

Lotsa n00bz on the team, but so far, so good.

Drydn Dow: this kid's got something, and it's not just ridiculously good looks. He's gonna be something special and he's already showing a lot of potential. He might be a n00b, but when he's got the puck, I don't really find myself holding my breath, unlike other players (coughcoughrileymcintoshcoughcough).

Yuen: hasn't been playing lately, mainly because we are an army of D-men, so naturally, they make him scratch. But either way, in pre-season, he looked good, as usual.

Sophomore Squad (a.k.a. Macek, Shinny, Feser, Asuchak, etc.): So fucking good. Feser Laser had a natural hat trick when Spokane was in town a week ago! This kid is a stud. He'll go pro one day. But, the boys who are in their sophomore season are looking good. No sophomore slumping to be seen yet. <3

DREW MF OWSLEY: Hory chit, bishes! Hellooooooo starting goalie! Behbeh here went from modeling suits (not by choice, though) to showing bishes how it's done. First star honors in Portland on Friday and third star honors when Spokanistan was in town on the 3rd. The three of us ("Dave",normalooking, and myself) were holding up a sign at games that said "I BELIEVE IN DREW OWSLEY!" Yeah, he knew about. How could he not? We lost it, though. :( But anyhooooo, Owsley is fucking awesome. 'Nuff said. So stoked for him.

Basically, my team is awesome. No joke. I really have nothing to complain about. As some of my hockey friends and I have discussed, we've got a lot of depth. We aren't just relying on one or two players to make things happen scoring-wise. We don't have one line that gets shit done, but we have a few lines that look good and do good things with the puck. Quite impressive. Each player does his job and it's beautiful sight. Coach Hiller is doing some great things with this team. He's rotating almost everyone. More than just the same 6 dudes see ice time. Whatever you're doing, Coach, keep it up.

Oh, and another thing... I gotz a kitteh! SEE?!

Gordon Stanley, bishes. Or Gordie if you're awesome. That's from the first day I brought him home (barely 2 months old... AWWWWW). He had a bit of an upper respiratory infection, so that's why his eyes looked a bit grody, but mama made him better. Behbeh is 4 months old now... growin' like a weed. And he's a hockey kitteh. He's awesome.

GAME TONIGHT IN SEATTLE! Let's go boys! Livebloggin' over at "Dave Schultz" humble blogadobe. So head over! Listen to either 870 AM or sportsfrequency.com for all the game shizz and make awesome comments with us. I'm pregaming with some Starbucks, so I'll be ready. Prepare for brilliance.

Let's be giddy little bitches!

Yours truly has decided to begin the countdown to NYC.

24 DAYS!

But, in the department of Debbie Downer, I'm having hockey withdrawls. Yes, I do realize the NHL ploffs are goin' on, which is great 'cause I love it, but I'm having my AMS withdrawls. :( Most of the Hockey Friends got together last night for some sweet ass Fiesta; love it1 It was much needed! It just felt weird because we weren't leaving for a game after dinner like we normally would. Gah, routine, you slay me. But still. It's Fiesta and Hockey Friends. That is full of win. In fact, it's overflowing with win.

This is my obligatory sappy, emotastic, end-of-season post.

I haven't updated this in a while, but nobody cares because nobody reads it so no loss there. Well, okay, I lied. One person does. WOOHOO! :D

I believe I left off with our April 4th win against Kelowna on home ice... it was sweet. Up 2-0 in the series; the games were intense. But, 8 days have passed since and a lot happened.

April 7th @ Kelowna- L
April 8th @ Kelowna- L
April 10th @ home- L

and tonight...

April 12th @ Kelowna- L. Americans eliminated, Kelowna goes on. :(

Too many injuries, too many guys missing, too much of everything. But, lets not make any excuses.

The last game for Procyshen, Reese, Fadden, and Pickard (amongst other players who may not be coming back... *sobs*). I was only listening to the game, but I was told by people who were watching that Chet was crying after coach pulled him out to put Martyniuk in the net. Talk about heartbreaking.

So, I'm gonna deliver with this whole emotastic blog deal... and here it goes:

First off- Taylor Procyshen. Not only a great player, but an awesome guy in general. Total inspiration. Great captain. I couldn't have asked for a better guy to lead this team.

Jason Reese- Helloooo, difference maker! He did so much for the team. Love watching him play. Brought a lot of experience to the team and knowing that he started out here as a Jr. AM is pretty awesome. Reese came full circle here and I'm so glad to have been able to witness it!

Mitch Fadden- Our ("Dave"'s) little (big) redheaded stallion. You have no idea how thankful I am we got this guy during that midseason trade business. Behbeh really did "get 'er done, eh." Insane. Another difference maker, fo' sho.

Chet Pickard- Whatta man, whatta man. Great goalie. I can't imagine what we would have done without him! He had a great career here in Tri. I'm so stoked to see him go on to the next level. We'll most definitely miss this one.

This was the first season I was able to really get into because I lived close enough to go to the games (I've followed the AMS for years though) and whatnot. This team has a lot of heart and a lot of talent. The n00bs like Behbeh Yuen, Shinny FTW4EVER, and Messier (those are just a few) give me a great feeling about next season. I'm fucking jacked about next season! And with our 19-year-olds, who knows? McColm, Toll, Lazo, Stoklasa, Plouffe... Personally, if I had it my way, we wouldn't lose any of 'em, but the Dub says "fuck off, you can only have 3." Ugh. :(

*So, hockey behbehs... I know none of you will ever read this, but it makes me feel better to write this all out... It was a great season. No lie. We are sooo proud of you guys! You guys did fantastic and it was awesome to be able to witness it. So here's to next year: whether you'll be back here in TC, playing with another team in the Dub, in the AHL, in the NHL, in another league I didn't mention, or just done and moving on to the next phase of your life.* You guys deserve all the cuppies and cookies in the world!

And Hockee Frendz, I'm so thankful to have met you all!! You made this season even better! I had a blast and laughed harder with you all than I have with other people. We can't let the end of the season be the end of us hanging out! :) Love you all!!!! ♥♥

In other awesomeness, the NHL ploffs are coming up! So my hockey obsession won't be too starved after tonight. :) And my browser is decked out in a Montreal Canadiens theme. 'Cause I'm fucking fabulous like that. haha

A night full of win.

My hockey team totally ate their Wheaties this morning! No joke.

6-1 Ams!

Right off the bat, one of my potential Hockey Husbands (seriously, I'm not a Hockey Husband whore, I just love my team), Mitch McColm, scored a goal about halfway through the first period. There is a reason why I write his name all over my notebook during class (I don't really, but you get my point)! It was sweet! I may have squealed like a little schoolgirl.

Original Hockey Husband also scored (not with me) in the third period. HOT. He is full of win and hot.

And you know what else totally kicks ass? The Messier-Shinny-Hot Lips combination. For real, pumpkins. That little trio of adorableness produced two goals. *le sigh* I was swoonin' like a 10-year-old front row at a New Kids On the Block concert. LA Gear high tops, slouch socks and all.

Cap'n Pro. We've been wondering where you've been for a while. A bunch of us hockee frendz agreed you were due. And baby, your ears musta been burning 'cause you had a goal AND an assist for the night.

Others who made me wanna dance in my seat:

Fadden with three assists!

Cap'n Pro and his "Go Pro MDA Challenge" and the shitload of money him and his compadres raised (AWESOME!!)

Behbeh Am Zach Yuen- I am SOOOOO STOKED about him! Cannot wait to see what happens next with this kid!

Heemskerk calling it a day

Chetter and his awesomeness, Messier getting FIRST STAR honors for the night (gooooo bbi goooo!!)

Others who made me wanna get my shank on:

Loud-mouthed asshole in section M- STFU. Quit banging on the glass. Quit yelling out "Dailey/Ellington, YOU SUUUUCK!!!" You lack sooo much class; go cheer on the Queefs or something because we don't need classless idiots like you at our games "cheering" on our team.

Father of the Year in the seats next to us- Your kid is cute, but holy hell, sit his ass down. It was annoying trying to dodge you son's head. And it was annoying listening to you "discipline" your son. Maybe if you put as much effort into your parenting as you do spiking your hair (I mean, really? Lay off the gel, dude.) you wouldn't have had to showcase your skills in douchebaggery. YOU, my dear, are a "nobody." Fuck off and get a babysitter next time. kthxbai

Sooooo...

BRING ON KELOWNA! Get 'em, boys. Keep working hard and play with everything you've got.

I ♥ my team and my hockee frendz!

5 Alarm Burger? Bitch, puh-leese.

Ams began their playoff series with the good ol' Everett Silvertips the other night (Friday). In case we're not up-to-speed here, I chug/bathe in the Haterade when it comes to this team; just like I do with Spokanistan. They can pretty much fuck off.

ANYWAAAAAAY.

Friday night (6-5 Ams):

I don't think I've heard the glass and all that shizz rattle and bang around THAT hard in a LONG time. Very physical. Dimples still suspended. But the best thing about this game??

CHETTERS IS BACK!!!!

That's right, beesh, behbeh is BACK! I just wanted to hug him and shower him with cookies and cuppies and rainbows and confetti and Lisa Frank stickers.

Downside to this celebration is defense thought they were in fucking Cancun (or some other terribly overrated vacay spot) on Spring Break or some shit. Um, harro??? You're in Kennewick and you have a game to play. :)

I don't wanna get into too much detail because I hate long ass posts (don't wanna bore anyone...), BUUUUT the refs sucked massive amounts of ass (Hanson, I'm talkin' 'bout you) and we ended up being 5-5. At the end of the 3rd period. And you know what that means.

OVERTIME!!

So I'm thisclose to having a heart attack, but then someone saves my life.

It wasn't one of my two Hockey Hubbies (mouth-to-mouth plz&thnku).

No, my dear friends, we have ANOTHER player to add to the Hockey Hubby roster (official roster conveniently located to the right of the text).

Justin motherfucking Feser busts out a Feser Laser and scores the game winner and prevents a heart attack!!!

I pretty much heart this boy. ♥♥♥

Kruise and Adam also 3-star winners as well.

*swoon*

Uncool shit of the night: Shitty reffing, Heemskerk NOT being a sieve, getting cat-called in the parking lot while walking to my car and being asked if I wanted to go get drunk.

......................................................................

Saturday night (3-2 Everett):

First off- Dimples is back!! Oh, welcome back, babycakes.

Boys looking better than last night (hallelujah)! It's just that fucking HEEMSKERK! Holy hell, he needs to open up that five-hole.

REFS SUCKING HARDER THAN EVER TONIGHT. Fuck me running sideways. I'm pretty sure the refs are listed on the Everett roster. Could not make a decent call to save their balls. So many potential penalties just flatout IGNORED. Riley looked pretty good out there tonight, too. He's been playing a lot better lately! WOOHOO! Shinny, what can I say? Working his ass off just like every game. Overall, boys played better tonight than last night. I mean, 47 shots-on-goal. BUT, we still lost.

I can't imagine how frusterated/pissed off the entire team felt. Just sitting my happy ass in the crowd was frustrating, but they had a whole different level of frustration to deal with.

Not gonna say much more about this game. Too pissed off. I flipped off the refs one too many times (my bad)... BRING ON WEDNESDAY!

Uncool shit of the night: BEYOND-PATHETIC REFS, Everett players just looking to start shit, Heemskerk NOT being a sieve again, "5 Alarm Burger" being a .5 Alarm Burger.

On a high note: Hockee frendz FTW!! I love you all!

Seriously. Seeeeriously.

Sooooo I pretty much feel the love.

Yessum, I'm feelin' it.

First, mi madre made the trek to see me tonight.

Then, Merrick brought me FLOWERS after the performance (awww!!)!

THEN, I get home at 1 AM, go brush my teeth, and as I open the cabinet door, I see a piece of paper with my name on it. It was a little note from my roomie telling me I did awesome and good luck on my interview tomorrow! Could I ask for a better bestie/roomie? I think not. :)

Seriously.

I smiled so fucking much this evening, my mouth hurts. It hurts so good! Thanks everyone!! <3

Got the car back today. Yeah, it shit the bed yesterday when I was LITERALLY three blocks away from my house. Go fuckin' figure. But I got Julia (my car's name.. yeah, I named her) this evening, so life can resume.

Recording today and tomorrow. GAH. I will more than likely miss tonight's game (Ams @ Spokanistan) so I'm pretty much pissed. I believe I will be in the clear for Saturday's game (Spokanistan @ Ams), but I can't go. I can only watch! BOOOOOO.

Oh, and I have an interview this afternoon. Keeping my appendages crossed.

Went to the team signing yesterday with "Dave Schultz" and Shari. Went to Fiesta (best be jealous) then hit up the signing. Didn't get anything signed. Mainly because I find it kinda odd to ask a bunch of 16-20 year old boys to sign their name on a poster. I just wanted the poster. lol

And saw some of our players when I went to lunch today with some besties. They are pretty much A-FUCKING-DORABLE. lol

That's all. :) I'll blog from recording tomorrow or some shit.

Oh, and sorry if this post is a bit scatterbrained and whatnot. It's like 3 AM. I'm tired. But felt the urge to blog. :)

Sunday, March 8, 2009

Move over, Betty Crocker- there's a new kitchen bitch in town.

As some of you may know, I made some cupcakes the other night. Slaved over a hot oven and baked me some cuppies. Oh, and I watched the Ams play Seattle and Liveblogged at the same time. Multitasking? I gots it.

I didn't want to just slather those puppies with frosting and call it "good" because face it- it's not good. You gotta decorate.

So I decided to adorn my newborn cupcakes with red and blue and hockey goodness.

I shanked like 6 cupcakes, too. But you won't see those. :)

I'm gonna warn you- they look like shit. But then again, I'm not a Costco cake decorator, so you shouldn't have had any expectations. bwahahahahahahaaaaaa

Here's the cupcake army. I put the last names of all the boys on 'em. Like I said in a previous post, some of those last names are killer. I couldn't fit them on a cupcake. GAH. So I had to resort to using nicknames. But I love them all equally. :)

Ohhh, I wuv this team.

This one is for "Dave Schultz". Sorry I kinda shanked the writing, but for reals, it was the best my tired little hand could do. lol

I had to do this. I tried to fit "Spokanistan" on a cupcake, but that was a FAIL. Some of you have already seen this on my Facebook. :)

I have some more pics of the cuppies upclose-and-personal, but I don't really feel like putting those up at the moment. I'll probably come back and edit this post later and pop those suckers in here, though.

So there ya go. I made cupcakes. I would totally give them to the team, but not too long ago, "Dave Schultz" tried to give the team waffle cookies, and somehow, the cookies were lost between the hands of the team trainer and the guys. I don't wanna risk it. :)

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Oh, snap. :)

Spokant just sent me a little comment on Facebook regarding my status (of course, it's team-related). Made me laugh. haha

My status is "Dear boys: why? Love always, Me."

Spokant's response?

"Dear Millicent,

We lost on purpose so Spokanistan would have to play Seattle instead of Kamloops in the playoffs. Seriously, it was our plan all along. No joke. Fur realz.

Love always,
The Boys

(not really, it was me, Sara)"

lol

Ohhh, I loves it. I'll admit, I'm being a little too intense about this little loss for our boys. I mean, they DID just win the division title. AND they are 16-20 year old boys. AND they probably are a bit excited about life at the moment. AND we should probably do anything (within reason) to make sure Spokanistan struggles, SO I'm sure the second game against a hungry team of T-birds wasn't a huge deal to them. Jussayin'. :) And my team is AWESOME, so I'm sure this was all thoughtfully planned. Or I'm hoping it was. lol

Oh, I hart mah hockee frendz.

And good luck to the hockee frendz who are fiercly working on those scrapbooks for the team... I bet they look great! :) And don't get too many papercuts.

"Ladies, can't we all just fuck off?"

LAWLZ!

Had a GREAT time at the Ams/Winter Hawks game! Nice little group of us sitting together. Lots of fucking off. Had a guest as well! His name is James and he is currently touring through all the west coast hockey teams and tonight was his night in Tri-Town. Read his blog here. Actually, he is the proud creator of this blog title and I thought I'd lift it for tonight's entry. :) He was lucky enough to sit with our little group of sexiness. haha

Got to go to my first post-game skate with the team. Of course, my luck, it's the last one of the year. :( Got some pics with a few players and whatnot. I should have gone out and skated, but honestly, I've only skate like twice in my life (once like last year, but I use to KILL at rollerblading when I was a behbeh. haha) and I suck shit. haha I still should have. I'll work on it this summer or something. :) But, gosh, it would have been a great excuse to have my Hockey Husband hold my hand and drag me all over that ice... (drools) Okay, I need to stop.

So, we won 5-3. Hughesman had 2 goals for the night- awesome. Jason, Shinny, and Fadden also put one down in the books as well. Woohoo! Boys on a definite roll. But the fucking Winter Hawks were "Winter Hawking it" and made the game go on FOREVER (that's what it felt like). Joel Ridgeway (former Americans player) is totally rockin' the Rapunzel locks, and I'm not gonna lie- I love it. Martyniuk started tonight because Chet is out (duh) with some sort of injury (have yet to hear what he has going on). Other behbeh goalie, Owsley, was backup tonight. He looked fucking ADORABLE. haha Poor thing hasn't been able to get in his uni for like a month, I swear. :( He didn't seen any playing time, though. Your time will come, behbeh. But Marty played well tonight; I am superduper happy for him. Keep it up! He might want to consider getting a kickass paint job on that goalie mask of his, though. Y'know, spice it up, babycakes. :) You deserve it!!

Overall, tonight was awesome! I'm just getting that sinking heart/pit-in-your-stomach feeling because the season is quickly coming to an end. :( Hoping to snag season tickets for next year. I'm hopelessly addicted to this great team (yeah, that sounds kinda creepy) and totally thankful for all the AWESOME people I've met because of it. :) I mean, I may actually forego transferring out for the rest of my Bachelors degree just so I can stay here for my hockey team. I'm totally serious. lol

Had a nice time with the broseph this weekend and miss him already; he's a great kid. Tired, though. We stayed up till the wee hours of the morning hanging out. Mainly because I was pretty wound up from the Spokanistan game.
